Videos
Mi muñeco de nieve
Winter is mostly about 3 topics in our class: snowflakes, snowmen and winter clothes. One of our favorite videos is Mi Muñeco de Nieve by Niños aventureros. We play this video after introducing vocabulary like sombrero, bufanda, nariz, boca etc… It is a very calm and mellow song, so it is perfect to end your lesson.
Copo de nieve
If your little ones are familiar with Super Simple Songs they will recognize this song about a snowflake in Spanish. This song pairs perfect with our book Copito and it is already a win that most of your students know this song in English.
Books

Have you checked Sol Book Box?. They have a great variety of bilingual and Spanish books, most of them you cannot find them in Amazon. For my younger students, we LOVE the story of Copito by Maria Luz Malamud. This is a lovely story about a snowman and it is great for students to review numbers 1-5 and parts of the body.
Another book from Sol Book Box you can use for your students is La Marmota Pancha y el Zorro. This is a cute story about a very unlikely friendship and an unexpected turn of events.

Lee and Low books is a great place to find books of Latino Interest or Bilingual/Spanish Books. Our two Lee and Low books for winter are Mi muñeco de nieve and Frío y Calor. Mi muñeco de nieve is a cute story about a boy making a snowman, it goes over vocabulary of parts of the body and some winter clothes. Frío y Calor is a very short but cute story about a boy getting dressed to go out in the winter. These two are my preschoolers favorites.
Classroom Resources
During winter time, I use my Muñeco de Nieve preschool unit. This unit includes vocabulary about winter clothes, snowmen and winter. This unit also included their very own Copito for them to play and review vocabulary while playing.

Remember the most important part of ANY unit, is for you to have fun too!. It took some time for me to find activities that my students enjoy and that provide a learning environment too.
Thanks for reading profe! Stay warm y ponte un suéter!.
